Main cook Ikuyo Yamaoka, who attended culinary school while living in Tokyo, demonstrates how to prepare sour teriyaki chicken during a cooking seminar at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Japanese Festival on Saturday, Sept. 4. Chicken was the seminar’s themed ingredient for the presented “Mother Recipes” (home-made recipes passed down from Japanese families).
